The Concept of the Collective Unconscious, by Carl (CG) Jung. Essay read aloud.
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
This essay summarizes Carl Jung's theory of the Collective Unconscious, emphasizing the role that archetypes play. Carl takes a few shots at his previous mentor, Sigmund Freud (and a few others), who disagree with Carl about the existence of a Collective Unconscious, and alternatively believe that psychology is solely personal. Do you believe in such a thing as a "Collective Unconscious"? Feel ...
Carl Jung On Numbers
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
Carl Jung discusses the peculiarity of numbers, describing them as "autonomous entities" that are found, rather than invented. Also, Jung believes numbers to be of archetypal nature and dealt with in the unconscious mind as such. This would be an interesting read/listen for people experiencing synchronicity in the form of repeating numbers. From "Synchronicity, an Acausal Connecting Principle"....
Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle, by CG (Carl Gustav) Jung.
Переглядів 61 тис.4 роки тому
Chapter 1 of Carl Jung's essay, "Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle", titled "Exposition". As the title of his essay suggests, Jung believed the explanation for synchronicity lay outside the bounds of causality in space and time or at least as we understand it. I'm excited to share this work of Jung's, as it not only explains synchronicity as Jung had come to understand it, but also...
The Secret Book of John (aka "Apocryphon of John"). Gnostic text audio book.
Переглядів 55 тис.4 роки тому
The "Secret Book of John" (aka "The Apocryphon of John") is generally regarded as the most "heretical" of Gnostic texts, establishing the tenets of the Gnostic tradition. Within are ideas including salvation through Gnosis, reincarnation, the "immovable race", and Archons (the equivalent of demons in the Christian tradition). The famous Swiss psychologist Carl Jung considered himself Gnostic, a...

The Stages of Life, by Carl Jung (audiobook)
Переглядів 48 тис.5 років тому
Carl Jung discusses the stages of life, in regard to consciousness and the problems that arise with consciousness. Jung likens human life to the trek of the sun, climbing from the east horizon to its zenith (high noon), and descending towards the west until finally setting. As per usual, Jung’s insight is timeless and highly applicable to today’s world.
Self-Reliance, by Ralph Waldo Emerson (audiobook)

The War Prayer, by Mark Twain (read aloud)
Переглядів 7 тис.5 років тому
Despite his call for peace, love, and tolerance, "Christians" have historically ignored the teachings of their namesake, Jesus Christ, and led the multitudes in beating the war drums. Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) brilliantly illustrates the hypocrisy of many such so-called "Christians" in this short story.
Spiritless Humans, by Tom@montalk.net (audiobook)

Ever wonder why there are so many automatic (even robotic) people? Ever talk to someone who really wasn't "there"? And what should we make of the blank look present on so many faces? What about psychopaths and sociopaths? Tom@montalk.net explains the phenomenon of "empty people" in esoteric/occult/gnostic concepts, likening them to agents, or mere programs operating in our version of The Matrix...
The Self, by Carl Jung (audiobook)

The Undiscovered Self, by Carl Jung (audiobook)

Jung discusses his concerns for the world in regard to communism, nuclear weapons, and the fragile state of democracy. Most troubling to Jung are the ever-increasing proclivity to mass-mindedness, and the eradication of the individual by the "State". Written decades ago, this brilliant work has more impact than ever in today's world, where many of Jung's concerns have come to fruition. The info...

Causality is the way we explain the link between two successive events Synchronicity designates the parallelism of time and meaning between psychic and psychophysical events which scientific knowledge has been so far unable to reduce to a common principle The term explains nothing, it simply formulates the occurrence of meaningful coincidences which, in themselves, are chance happening, but are so improbable that we must assume them to be based on some kind of principle or on some property of the empirical world No reciprocal causal connection can be shown to obtain between parallel events which is just what gives them their chance character the only recognizable and demonstrable link between them as a common meaning or equivalence

I was watching the Eagle Has Landed. Robert Duvall speaks of Jung and synchronizes about capturing Churchill to Donald Sutherland. Sutherland then says oh you are a fish girl. Perfect match for a Scorpio ♏️ is a fish girl pieces which they both were. I’m a Scorpio and they could have chosen any other sign in that movie. I had never seen that movie but Duvall is my favorite actor especially from Gods and Generals. I’m a Scorpio and only recently found out a pieces is my best match. At the house I’m living in there is a book about how the Bible was written by astrology. These things happen to me almost everyday. I swear they are up there laughing when they show me these things as no one will old believe it unless they experience it themselves.

This describes my husband (RIP) -- and his entire family! At some point, I actually started calling them parasites because I observed each one was an energy suck. They were the most religious people I've ever met. Not spiritual... religious... not internalized, externalized by required behaviors.

I told her how I gave him my number and how he never called me. The very next day he actually called my phone and we spoke for the first time.

This misses a point. There is a reason that the atomic bomb was developed. It was to end WW2, the bloodiest conflict in modern history. The desire for evil is not distinct from the desire for good. Selfish inventions serve the ego when shared with others. The love of one’s countrymen makes war on other countries. Rather, I would be concerned with the decay of habits, made consciously on milestones, into hedonism as the time between milestones increases. Individualists do this faster, as it increases in period with the age of the civilization’s originator. That is a faster decay, and a sooner renewal.

While it would be nice to believe such autonomy is largely dependent on a individual's felt love, to ignore how integral various images and symbols play in pivoting people's psyches into and away from nationalism would be ignoring the full truth of circumstances on both sides of World War II and the world at large today. Both of our perspectives may differ, but are undeniably a result of how of these national symbols have ‘as much of’, if not ‘more of’, a relationship with us than we have a relationship with them. There's importance to truly dissect the meaning behind how and what these images intend to sway to us towards that I feel Jung was hitting within the ballpark. Even under the moral grays or this proposed idea of national and/or global welfare, the means of dropping atomic bombs are by far the most vilest way to achieve that; it has to be criticized. It undeniably has played an effect into the issues and divisions present in both the outward and inward circle of benefactors. It brought an absurd amount of evil into the world that even the United States has been fearing the conquences. The fact neither of us visibly suffered direct negative consequences should not be just looked out as a legitimate perspective to fully delve into its nuances. What relevant hedonistic behaviors are you criticizing exactly? Hedonism is too large of a concept that it's only interpretable to the other. Even the freedom to create a response on UA-cam is a decision to be argued as hedonistic behavior differing from habits of yesteryear. To me, dissolving of conservative habits are developed from materialistic developments along with them being responses to traumatic pasts that can be a result of multiple generational clauses. Relevant hedonism within middle and lower class collectives must be seen with a glimmer of compassion for me; even when it may be destructive.
